Performed diagnostic on 3 year old carrier unit. Homeowner states system is not cooling. It is still blowing air, but it’s just warm air. Cycled system for cooling. System is a single stage unit with 2 zones. Indoor unit kicks on normally, but outdoor unit is not turning on the compressor. Checked unit electrical and components. Found a dead secondary motor control that was not allowing the compressor to turn in. Put in new secondary motor control and cycled unit on. Refrigerant pressures are in range. Amp draws are ok. Homeowner recently removed fan and cleaned out the coil as seen through YouTube. Went over findings and recommendations. Secured secondary motor control. System is fully operational upon departure.
